Canoeing Algonquin Park - Baron river

This is the Baron Canyon where we plan to do a day trip - probably on Saturday. We will have a picnic lunch on the way with a swim for those needing more exercise.

Hi from the Ottawa valley

We are just starting to put together ideas for 2011 (We = Stewart and Deanna Mark, Jill and Greg Mark, Brendan and Lauren Mark,Amy and Jamie).

I am trying to build a current email list so any additions of possible contacts would be appreciated. I need help in this area.

The proposal is to have the reunion based in Pembroke Ontario - 150km west of Ottawa.

Dates fri 22 to sun 24 July 2011.

Agenda

Active Friday- A day white water rafting on the Ottawa river - probably the best rafting in
North America.

Saturday- A day canoe trip in Algonquin Park - the traditional travel mode on this
continent by the Indians and the first settlers.


Culture Friday and Saturday Two days touring by bus with a guide exploring the rich Irish and other roots of the Ottawa Valley.

Social Thu - meet at the hotel bar.

Fri night- a casual get together at a Quebec farm with local music.

Saturday usual Banquet without speeches

Sunday- A beach BBQ on the Ottawa river with water skiing, kayaks canoes etc - Cottage life in Canada.

Accomodations - Probably the Travelodge in Pembroke which is decent and central, and there are several other hotels and B&B's in the area.


How to get here? - probably easiest by car - we are less than 1 1/2 hours from Ottawa.
